Maha Kumbh Mela 2025

This year, the Maha Kumbh Mela was held in Prayagraj, an event that occurs every twelve years and lasts for a month and a half. For Guru Baba and Gururatna, this was the third Maha Kumbh they attended among the seven Kumbh Melas they have been present at.

Called the “Digital Kumbh,” it employed state-of-the-art devices to ensure the necessary monitoring and control due to the massive crowd of pilgrims. Thousands of workers were involved in the preparations, and numerous law enforcement officers were deployed in the area of the Maha Kumbh to ensure the safety of participants.

During this time, the arrival of the faithful, estimated to be in the hundreds of millions, often led to the collapse of road and rail networks, which were closed on several occasions. Accommodating such a large crowd caused numerous problems, and managing unforeseen issues was not always up to the challenges that arose.

We too organized ourselves well in advance to participate, securing an area where we could set up a camp to welcome sadhus and friends. In addition to the tents, we arranged services to allow for a long stay. Transporting everything necessary required several trips from our Ashram to Prayagraj.

In our camp, we had no inconveniences, and we were able to attend the main events of the calendar. Even outside the dates of the Sahi Snan (the main ritual baths), the participation of the population was always immense.

We had the opportunity to witness the great faith that led millions of people to endure severe discomfort and long journeys just to be part of this memorable event.
